Jim Musgrave, a Wealth Advisor with over 20 years’ experience in the financial industry, specializes in retirement planning, money management, 401(k) plans and financial planning for individuals, federal employees and business owners. Jim is passionate about financial education and is the president of the Baltimore/Washington corridor chapter of the Society For Financial Awareness, through which he provides investment and retirement educational seminars for businesses, federal agencies, military bases, and non-profits.

Jim’s philosophy is simple:  Empower people with the knowledge and financial tools necessary to take control of their finances. This process is accomplished through explaining financial concepts, understanding the client’s goals and values, analyzing the client’s current finances, creating a financial roadmap, implementing recommendations, and on-going monitoring of the client’s financial situation.

Jim graduated from the University of Alabama and also earned his Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) designation. This CRPC designation denotes expertise in Retirement Planning, Asset Management & Investment Strategies, Taxes, Estate Planning, Retirement Plan Distributions, Planning for Incapacity, Disability & Long Term Care, Employer-Sponsored Plans, and Deferred Compensation.  In addition, Jim completed advanced courses for retirement plan consultation, college planning, federal employee benefits, IRA distributions, cash flow planning, demographics, and insurance.

Research Financial Strategies is a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) with the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) and specializes in providing investment advice using a proprietary investment methodology that leverages technical analysis to identify and protect clients against stock market risk.
